WCBS-TV news anchor Rob Morrison reportedly fought his wife and choked her at their home, even threatening her after he was arrested according to the Associated Press.
Officers received a call on the morning of Feb. 17 from Morrison's mother-in-law about what was going on at the couple's home in Darien, Connecticut. Morrison reportedly had been yelling at his wife, Ashley Morrison, a CBS financial news anchor, for most of the night, and wound up with his hands around her neck, leaving red marks according to police officers.
Officers arrived to the scene and while they were arresting him, he continued to shout threatening remarks at his wife. Ashley did not seek medical attention according to the Associated Press.
While it isn't clear if Ashley also attacked her husband, a police mug shot clearly shows Morrison with a bloody cut near the bridge of his nose and a bruise on his bottom lip. Morrison posted $100,000 bond and is due to appear in court this week.
If convicted, Morrison could face charges of strangulation, threatening and disorderly conduct according to the Associated Press.
"The Morrisons are confident that a full review of this matter will show that the allegations have been greatly exaggerated," attorney Robert Skovgaard said in the statement.
Rob Morrison, who was a combat correspondent and a reporter/anchor for WNBC-TV, currently anchors WCBS-TV news programs like "This Morning" and "News at Noon." Ashley Morrison worked for Bloomberg Television before joining "CBS MoneyWatch."
