Next-generation Volvo XC60 spoilers have surfaced prior to its 2017 Geneva Auto Show debut. Teaser photos reveal a great resemblance with XC90 but have some refresh on the lights, platform and grille.
Volvo has just released several teaser photos of the upcoming next-generation Volvo XC60. The photos seem to hype up the anticipation for the 2018 model prior to its grand debut.
Volvo fans may notice that the next-generation XC60 shown in the teaser photos has a resemblance with the XC90. However, the new XC60 appears to be larger than the latter as it uses the Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) modular platform of the automaker.
The teaser photos released still manage to maintain the secrecy of the full design of the new vehicle. Fortunately, some aspects are quite obvious.
The new XC60 seems to have a change in the Thor's Hammer daytime running lights. It seems to have been extended outside of the cluster of the main headlights, which now extends to the sides of the grille.
Speaking of the grille, it seems that the new vehicle sports a new kind of grille. The chrome details evident on the XC90 are no longer visible in the new XC60's grille, the Motor Authority reported.
The new flagship appears to sport vertical style taillights which have great resemblance with the large Volvo SUV. In addition, the cabin is highly speculated to have the same dashboard with digital instrument screen and portrait style infotainment system.
On the inside, the engine is expected to have two 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel when the new Volvo XC60 is released. The engine is able to produce 187 bhp D4 and 232 bhp D5.
Moving forward, Volvo is expected to release a faster variant of the new XC60. The next variant will sport a T8 Twin Engine plug-in hybrid, which is similar to the XC90 T8, AutoExpress has noted.
The upcoming Volvo XC60 is expected to compete with the latest BMW X3 and Audi Q5. Check out the new flagship as it is set to make its grand debut next month at the 2017 Geneva Auto Show.
