The motorcycle has a laydown rear shock, which extends the frame to the swingarm along to its left side. The rear shock features a similar line, however, it is lined up inside the subframe above the swingarm.
According to Sports Rider, the 2017 Kawasaki Ninja 650 comes with a new sporty front cowl and aggressive bodywork with sharp angular lines. The shock comes in a horizontal back-link configuration similar to the Kawasaki ZX-10R. It comes with a powerful gull-wing swingarm and under-engine exhaust.

Its rear suspension comes with Horizontal Back-link with adjustable spring preload. The front brakes are Dual 300 mm petal-type discs and two-piston calipers and ABS.
