Developers again tease fans for the new and upcoming hero for Overwatch. The latest teaser focuses on a new in-game event which portrayed an attack at an airport in Numbani and stealing the Doomfist gauntlet.
"OR15 defense units destroyed in confrontation with unidentified assailant at Numbani airport. No civilian casualties reported," the message posted by Overwatch on their Twitter page. The teaser tells a story about an 11-year-old robotics prodigy named Efi Oladele from Numbani.
Her goal is to create robots or Ais that can help save lives just like the new OR15s. She plans to use her award grant money to build something special. After winning the prestigious award, she decided to take a trip as a way to celebrate her winning. When she arrived at the Numbani International Airport, a major incident happened to cause the OR15 defense robots getting destroyed.
It is believed that someone who caused the incident is super strong to cause such destruction. Efi took a photo of the aftermath and sent it to the local news. The destruction Efi reported is now added in Overwatch PTR. Also, something interesting happened, the Doomfist gauntlet and its hologram in Numbani Payload are gone.
"Something or someone seems to have used the gauntlet to cause all of the destruction at the airport. That or the carnage resulted from those responsible for stealing the gauntlet. Either way, Doomfist's gauntlet is gone, the airport has taken a beating, and the culprits have gotten away," said VG 24/7.
There is a possibility the new hero will be unveiled in the next coming week. Sources predict the full revelation will either take place on March 10-12 at the PAX East event.
In other news, Overwatch Season 4 release date has been confirmed by the Developers via Twitter. Season 4 is scheduled to launch on Tuesday, February 28 at 4 PM PST. Here's what Blizzard has to say;
"This gives everyone the freedom to break away from the meta and experiment with new hero combinations and strategies without having to worry about being moved to a lower tier. Players in the Diamond, Master, and Grandmaster tiers can also take a week-long breather and avoid any skill rating decay. We're expecting each off-season to last about seven days, after which everyone will need to complete their placement matches for the new season."
