2018 Ford Mustang GT Is Done With Its V6 Engine

New Mustangs don't appear very often. The 2018 Ford Mustang GT isn't technically new; it's just a refresh of the outgoing design, which is fairly obvious at first glance.

The new design of the new model is sharper and more aggressive compared to the 2015 and 2017 models. Same with the Shelby GT350, the leading edge of the hood has been lowered by 20mm.

Front and rear have been redesigned to give the car a leaner and more refined look. A new grille repositioned the hood vents and improved aerodynamics. Full LED lighting is also offered for both low- and high-beams as well as the turn signals.

Performance upgrades are also available. Mustang's Performance Package adds magnetorheological shock that quickly adjusts damping forces when road conditions change. All versions come with an updated shock absorbers and sway bars. New active exhaust systems are also present.

The current model has a 5.0-liter V8 that produces 435 hp. But for the 2018 Ford Mustang GT, the 5.0 gets both direct and port-fuel-injection, a higher compression, so a 20-horsepower increase is done. Also, Ford Performance is also available which is a calibration pack for the current Mustang GT that utilizes a combination of software tuning and GT350 hardware to increase horsepower from 435 to 472.

Most notable updates are on the technological side. New features include a 12-inch, all digital LCD dashboard screen that can be customized for Normal, Track, and Sports modes. The Mustang's Sync 3 Infotainment system is now available with Sync Connect, which allows owners to unlock, lock, locate and start vehicles using a smartphone.

Ford also installed some drive-assistance technologies for the first time on the 2018 Ford Mustang GT. It includes forward collision warning, lane departure warning, autonomous emergency braking, and lane-keep assist. A 10-speed automatic transmission which is offered with EcoBoost and V-8 engines makings this model the best of its lineup.
