Asus ROG GX800 is the world’s most powerful Windows 10 Professional gaming laptop and features an innovative liquid-cooling dock, the latest Intel Core i7 (Kaby Lake) processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 SLI and 660W of power for a desktop level of performance.
Trusted Reviews reported that the new Asus ROG GX800 laptop is the fastest laptop ever built. The most noticeable thing about GX800 is its size. It is enormous, but that’s because the laptop connects to a separate liquid-cooling dock, that lets the GX800 achieve absolutely ridiculous overclocking. Underneath the massive chassis is an Intel Core i7-6820HK that can be overclocked to 4.4GHz and beyond.
The maximum automatic overclock is limited at 4.2GHz but with some tempering, the user can overclock the processor to 4.4GHz. It has 64GB of RAM that backs up the i7, and two GeForce GTX 1080 GPUs in SLI configuration. The ridiculous thing is that these are both desktop graphic cards, and with overclocking and water-cooling they are as fast as you’d expect. The laptop comes with three top-of-the-line 512GB Samsung SM951 NVMe SSD running in RAID 0.
According to PC Gamer, the GX800 comes with an 18.4-inch display. It has 4k (3840x2160) resolution, and 100 percent RGB coverage. It also supports G-Sync. This is a no-compromise laptop, it’s big and heavy. The laptop weighs 5.7kg, but the Hydro Overclocking System weighs another 4.7kg. This makes the laptop not portable at all if you want to retain the maximum performance.
On the outside of the laptop, there are two USB 3.1 Type C ports, three USB 3.0 ports, separate microphone and headphone jacks, a GbE LAN port, HDMI and mini DisplayPort output, and a memory card reader. It also has a built-in 802.11ac Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity.
There is still no information about when Asus is going to release the GX800 nor what would it price be. The earlier model GX700 was selling for around $4,700, so it is safe to assume that this one might top the $5,000 mark.
