Toyota is creating an exciting twist in their next year's line-up. With their 2018 C-HR, it is an indication that the company is into action though they are behind when it comes to subcompact crossover vehicles.
Toyota's sharp entry is said to be their boldest design ever created. It is totally unchanged from the company's concept of C-HR cars. This four doors subcompact crossover will be available in two trim levels, the XLE and the XLE Premium.
This model will feature a multifunction 4.2 inches display between the gauges with a multimedia 7.0 inches screen. The XLE will have a steering wheel wrapped in leather, folding and heated mirrors that also includes an automatic dimming mirror in the interior, and a climate control set in dual-zone.
As for the XLE Premium, it will have a traffic alert, blind spot monitoring, power driver's seat, heated front seats, and puddle lamps. An additional keyless start and fog lamps are offered on this trim.
Both the 2018 C-HR trims, XLE and XLE Premium will have an entertainment and connectivity system. It will be equipped with an HD/AM/FM radio, aha app from Harman, aux jack, USB port, voice recognition, and Bluetooth.
Toyota will provide the model with their four-cylinder 2.0-liter engine that can produce a modest horsepower of 144 and a torque in 140 lb-ft. It will also come with a continuously variable transmission in an automatic that distributes the power to the wheels. Just like the other CVTs today, it will have the program that comes with a simulated shifting in seven-speed.
For the safety tech that is included, it will have a pedestrian detection, emergency braking in automatic, collision warning system, steering assist, lane-departure warning, cruise control, and automatic high beams. There is still no official announcement from the Japanese conglomerate, but the 2018 C-HR is expected to have a starting price, not more than $20,000.
