Gaga Unable To Walk: 'Born This Way' Star Cancels Upcoming Shows Due To Injury

Pop diva Lady Gaga was forced to cancel four upcoming dates on her "Born This Way Ball Tour" due to injuries, E! Online reported.

On her official Twitter account it was announced that Lady Gaga is suffering from severe joint inflammation, also called synovitis. Gaga tweeted that her doctor ordered her to postpone shows.

Synovitis is a painful condition and can lead to joint deterioration in prolonged instances. Typically synovitis is treated with anti-inflammatory drugs or a steroid injection.

The star used Twitter to break the news of her injury to her followers.

"I hid it from my staff, I didn't want to disappoint my amazing fans. However after last nights performance I could not walk and still can't," Gaga said on Twitter.

"I've been hiding a show injury and chronic pain for sometime now, over the past month it has worsened. I've been praying it would heal," Gaga tweeted Tuesday.

Performances in Chicago on Wednesday and Thursday, Saturday in Detroit, and Sunday in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada have been postponed. Makeup dates will be announced later, E! Online reported.

"It will hopefully heal as soon as possible, I hate this," Gaga tweeted. "I hate this so much, I love you and I'm sorry."

This is not the first time Gaga has cancelled a show on the "Born This Way Ball". In 2012 she cancelled a sold-out show in Indonesia after threats to her safety were made as people protested her provocative outfits. In 2010 Gaga cancelled a show in Atlantic City, citing dehydration and exhaustion.

Lady Gaga is scheduled to resume the tour next Tuesday in Philadelphia.
