NBA Trade Rumors: Knicks' Derrick Rose Might Join Wolves

NBA trade for the season is almost coming to an end. During these last few days, it does seem that the Timberwolves are looking forward to including Derrick Rose in their team.

These are reports being circulated that the talks revolving Rose's trade have happened between the Knicks and Timberwolves. It is not just the Timberwolves who have interests in Rose. It is reported that several teams expressed interest in Rose. However, it is still not clear what Timberwolves are offering to Knicks in return for Derrick Rose.

These trade talks are a hint that Knicks are not too keen to sign Rose during the offseason when he will become a free agent. As far as Rose's figures go, he is averaging 17.7 points while shooting 46 percent. He hasn't been much help in the roster. The real reason could be the negligence that Rose displayed while he decided to sit out of a game and not inform the team about it, reported CBS Sports.

There is a strong speculation that Ricky Rubio will be given up by Timberwolves in order to get Derrick Rose. The Wolves want to make this move before the NBA trade deadline sets in.

However, if this trade materializes, the Timberwolves will have to depend on Kris Dunn at the point guard position. This is a huge risk as he is still a rookie. Also, it is unclear on how better Rose will be for the team instead of Rubio. On the defensive side, they both have similar talents, reported Sporting News.

Derrick Rose and the signing of Joakim Noah were the key moves that Knicks tried to make the team nearly perfect. However, including Rose has not paid off as the team has a poor display of talent during the season. It might be wise for the team to trade him and get some good players who will gel with the rest of the team before he becomes a free agent.
