CNN Money compiled a list of the least expensive new cars for sale in America. For anyone considering a new car with on a restrictive budget, this list, reproduced below, will provide a quick run-down of the most affordable rides on four wheels.

1. Nissan Versa

Base Price: $11,990 | Fuel economy: 27 City; 36 Highway

Nissan's current entry level model in North America, the car has a 1.8 liter engine and available in 6-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission.  

2. Chevrolet Spark

Base price: $12,185 | Fuel economy: 32 City; 38 Highway

This car is sold under different names in different parts of the world. The American Spark has a 1,249 cc engine and is sold in a five-door hatchback model.

3. Smart Fortwo

Base price: $12,490 Fuel economy: 34 City, 38 Highway

Rated the most fuel-efficient two-seat car in America, the Fortwo's one liter engine and compact size make it a popular city car.

4. Ford Fiesta

Base price: $13,200 | Fuel economy: 29 City, 39 Highway

The Fiesta has been sold since 1976 and remains a contender in the economy car market. Given a face lift with the 2012 reissue, the base model features a 1.4 liter engine and automatic transmission.  

5. Kia Rio

Base price: $13,600 | Fuel economy: 29 City, 39 Highway

Available as a four-door sedan or five-door hatchback, the Rio has a 1.6 liter engine and is sold with automatic or manual transmission.

6 Chevrolet Sonic

Base Price $14,185 | Fuel Economy: 26 City, 35 Highway

Also marketed as a Chevy Aveo, this compact car is available with a 1.4 or a 1.8 liter engine. Options include sedan or hatchback styling and automatic or manual transmission.

7. Toyota Yaris

Base Price: $14,370 | Fuel Economy: 30 City; 37 Highway

Available as a hatchback or a sedan, with 1.0 - 1.5 liter engine, it's known for its roomy cabin.

8. Kia Soul

Base price: $14,400| Fuel economy: 25 City, 30 Highway

Offered in 1.6 and 2.0 liter engines, the Kia Soul comes with lots of space for passengers and has Bluetooth as standard equipment.

9. Hyundai Accent

Base price: $14, 545 | Fuel economy: 28 City, 37 Highway

Sold as a hatchback or sedan, both models come with a 1.6 liter engine.

10. Mazda2

Base Price: $14,720 | Fuel Economy: 29 City, 35 Highway

Only available with a 1.5 liter 100-horsepower engine, options include automatic or manual transmission and hatchback or saloon body styles.
