2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Improves Powertrain To More Than 200

The 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 was tested at Germany's Automotive Testing Papneburg wherein the vehicle was recorded to hit 202.3 mph with a high-speed oval run.  When it was tested with compensating wind speed, it reached 198 mph as its top speed and was recorded with an average of 193.3 mph as it ran in the other direction. Has the ZL1 reached the 200 mph mark/

The 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 received tremendous attention this month. After if beat the 2017 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat in a race, the ZL1 then underwent speed testing at Germany's Automotive Testing Papneburg, reported Motor Trend. In fact, the results of the testing suggested that the vehicle could run at least 200 mph in circles.

The car was equipped with a 10-speed automatic transmission feature, installed with Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3 tire with pressure set at recommended level for high-speed driving, and 44 psi. Equipped with data logging and mandatory safety gear, the test drive showed that the stock specifications and the minor changes installed to the test vehicle were not significant; thus, the results were labeled to be that of the stock version as well. Therefore, the American muscle car could officially run 202.3 mph in a 7.6 mi., oval.

In other news, Road and Track reported that the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 model could be further improved even if it did not entail power specifications. According to Camaro chief engineer, Al Oppenheiser, mid-size sedans these days could run 500hp, a development that is quite an upgrade since American muscle cars were initially known to have the best performing road cars during in past decades. He then concluded that the automobile's developments should make a change and be developed through chemistry, and not for power.

After the testing at Germany, the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 was recorded to reach a maximum of 202 mph in circles and with a top speed of 198 mph. Since Oppenheiser raised that even mini sedans of today could run at 500 hp, has the model lost its touch? Is its powertrain the main focus of development of the muscle car or should the next installment to the franchise be chemistry-update-oriented to soar in the market?
