Rice, 58, handed the woman's daughter a white towl to stop the bleeding and held the woman's hand until first-aid personnel showed up. The woman was left with a "nasty" gash on her face and lots of bleeding thanks to the shot according to The New York Times.

The shot clearly affected Rice the rest of the day, as her game got worse after the incident. Rice, who plays to a 17 handicap, hit her best drives of at the event on the first two holes. She hit a 30-foot putt for par on the second hole after a chip.
"She was an incredible person," said Bohn about Rice. "A lot different than what I might have expected, to be honest, in the sense that she's real. What you see maybe from a political side you might not see as much of the realness that you want to. On the golf course, you see the real person."
