The 2017 Mini Countryman is not only the biggest car in the Mini lineup, but it's also considered the most practical and rugged vehicle. In fact, several high features and luxury options found on other modern Mini's are also equipped on the 2017 model.

The new 2017 model is set to launch in the U.S. this March. It's powered by a 134-hp 1.5-liter three-cylinder while the Cooper S versions will receive an 189-hp 2.0 liter four cylinder. Each will have an option for a front-drive or Mini's ALL4 all-wheel drive and a choice of a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission.

Meanwhile, underpinnings of the new model are closely similar to the BMW X1, with the two cars sharing the same wheelbase. The car is about 7.4 inches longer, 1.3 inches wider, and rolls on a wheelbase that's 2.9 inches longer than the BMW X1.

On the inside, the all-new 2017 Mini Countryman gets an updated interior. Materials used are top notch, and many great options are available to choose from. Toggle switches on the center stack are still present but accompanied by an excellent, rugged and tactile knob, colorful central dial, and high-quality finishes throughout the cabin.

Other features also include a sunroof leatherette upholstery, rearview camera, a push-button start, a 6.5-inch infotainment system, parking sensors, automatic headlights and rain-sensing wipers. Those mentioned standard features are usually seen on premium vehicles such as Audi and Mercedes-Benz. In addition, sliding rear seats are also present that can recline and fold with a 40:50:40 split and a 17-inch light alloy wheels.

The 2017 model will come with an 8.8-inch upgraded infotainment system, wireless charging, heated seats, bucket thrones, and special tags for driver's favorite things that will alert them if they drive off without them in the car.

The automaker claims that the 2017 Mini Countryman can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 6.5 seconds. The car's price starts at $39,900.
