Volkswagen, the famous German automobile brand and is known to be the largest automaker in the world. This year, the automaker revealed their all new 2018 Volkswagen Atlas and had made a great first impression.
North America's VW CEO, Hinrich Woebcken, said, "This car was done for the American market. We are here to stay in America."
The 2018 Volkswagen Atlas features a lot of new designs. It has three-row seats that can accommodate up to seven passengers. This SUV is designed to fit for a family and owners who wants bigger space cabin.
The car's middle rows are equipped with a 60/40-split folding seat, but the two captain's chairs can be replaced, decreasing the passenger capacity to six. The digital cockpit also has a customization option which provides drivers and owners choices to what information will be displayed.
The brand's 2018 model measures 198 inches long and 70 inches tall. It's powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine with TSI four cylinder that can produce up to 238 horsepower. Customers also have an option to choose the VR6 3.6-liter engine that produces 280 horsepower. Both of the engines are paired with a front wheel drive eight-speed automatic transmission, but the four motion all-wheel-drive is only offered on the V6.
Other features of the 2018 model will include a sound system from Fender with supports the car's Apple CarPlay app, smartphone platforms by MirrorLink, android auto, adaptive control, blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning, collision warning, parking assistance, and an emergency braking feature.
The new model also offers four driving modes such as off-road, standard, snow, and highway. Its suspension is springs and shocks rather than airbags that could change the ride height.
The automaker also said that the 2018 Volkswagen Atlas model would be offered in five trim levels. It should mimic other VW versions such as the Passat and SEL Premium Trims. The car is built in Chattanooga and already made its debut last year at the 2016 Long Angeles Auto Show.
