Xiaomi first started the year by introducing the Redmi Note 4 in India. The Chinese firm also announced that it has interesting devices lined up for the upcoming months.
When the Mi 5 was released, the company released a couple of versions such as Mi 5s and Mi 5s Plus. Today, it is anticipated to launch a budget-friendly version of Mi 5 named Mi 5C.
The most significant feature about the Mi 5C is that it will be the very first phone to have the in-house Pinecone V670 processor that is built with 28nm architecture. It also has a Cortex A53 octa-core processor and Mali T860 MP4 graphics.
Previously leaked photos of the Mi 5C shows that the phone might look similar to its predecessor Mi 5 when it comes to design. The Mi 5 has a premium glass and metal design. It also features a 5.5-inch Full HD display that is powered by Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 820 processor. Other features include a 16-megapixel camera on the rear with optical image stabilization and an 8-megapixel front camera.
Speculations have it that the new Xiaomi Mi 5C Pinecone chipset is expected to be supported by 3GB or 4GB of RAM. It is expected to have an internal storage of 64GB and also has a microSD card slot. Other speculated features of the phone are a single LED enabled 12-megapixel Omnivision 12870 rear camera, an Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS modified with MIUI 8.2 and a 4,500mAh battery.
The Chinese firm attended the CES 2017 to reveal its white version of Mi Mix. But a company spokesperson made an announcement that the company will not be present at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2017.
Furthermore, the Xiaomi Mi 5C new leaked photos also revealed that it would not have a physical Home button. It is expected to launch in March, and according to speculations, pricing would start at $220.
