The Honda NeuV is the Japanese automaker's concept self-driving electric vehicle designed for ride-sharing. The electric car was first made available at the Consumer Electronics Show earlier this year.

NeuV. The Verge reported that the NeuV was first available at the Consumer Electronics Show earlier this year. It is an acronym which stands for New Electric Urban Vehicle. It is a self-driving electric car that can be put to work while it isn't in use.

Basically, the Japanese automaker envisions that it can be programmed to pick up and drop off passengers as a ride-sharing self-driving electric vehicle when the owner isn't using it. Moreover, any remaining energy inside the electric vehicle would also be sold back to the grid. It will be able to give more value to the owner through the optimization and monetization of its downtime.

The new Honda NeuV also showcased quite a number of nifty interactive features and services. The electric vehicle has an "emotion engine" which can study and monitor the driver's reactions and mood patterns using technology developed by SoftBank. This is very similar to what Microsoft also wants to do.

Geneva Motor Show. In other related news, Car Magazine reported that the NeuV will debut alongside the new Civic Type R. The new hatchback will be available in manual only and it will have a new 2.0-liter VTEC turbocharged engine. It will be built in the Swindon factory and will finally be available in the United States for the first time. In addition, the new Clarity Fuel Cell will also be available.
