Honda Civic Type R is All Set for Geneva Motor Show

The Honda Civic Type R will finally debut at the Geneva Motor Show. In addition, the Japanese automaker will also be bringing the NeuV electric car as well as the Clarity Fuel Cell.

Civic Type R. Car Magazine reported that the new Honda will be based on the tenth-generation Civic. Honda will build the car in Swindon by Honda of the UK Manufacturing. From there, the car will be exported around the world and even sold in North America!

The 2016 Paris Motor Show saw the unveiling of the Type R prototype. It had a triple-exit exhaust system, similar to the Ferrari F40, 20-inch wheels, a carbon fiber diffuser, and flared arches.

Car Magazine most recently reported that it will also feature a new 2.0-liter VTEC turbocharged engine. The Honda Civic Type R will only be available in a six-speed manual, contrary to past rumors that it will be available in CVT. It will be a very rewarding car to drive and its official production will start in summer 2017.

More details about the vehicle have surfaced. It will remain front-wheel drive, sport 20-inch alloy wheels, and have at least 310 horsepower.

NeuV and Clarity Fuel Cell. CNET reported that Honda will also bring two other vehicles to display at the Geneva Motor Show. One of them is the Clarity Fuel Cell, which is the Japanese automobile manufacturer's new hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle. It has a range and fill-up time similar to a gas-powered car and will also have battery-electric and hybrid variants later on.

The third vehicle that will be a part of Honda's display is the NeuV. This vehicle debuted at the Consumer Electronics Show earlier this year. It is a battery-electric vehicle built for sharing. It can be loaned out to other drivers, and the electricity it produces can also be sent back to the grid to help the load during peak hours. It has an AI "emotion engine" that can contribute to reading a driver's emotions and respond in kind.

The Honda Civic Type R will definitely be one of the highlights of the Geneva Motor Show. The Clarity Fuel Cell and the NeuV will also be great additions. Are you excited for the auto show in Geneva next month? Share your thoughts and comments below.
