BMW i8 Spyder Spy shots - Caught Out In The Wild

The BMW i8 Spyder was merely a concept car... until it was caught running in the wild. Several spy photos of the i8 Spyder were leaked on the internet earlier this week.

Almost every car enthusiast have heard about the BMW i8 Spyder. However, nobody has seen actual photos of the said car. That all changed when spy photos of the i8 were leaked.

The i8 was under heavy camouflage in the spy photos, as expected. But there are a few noticeable details for the fans. See spy in the video below.

This is the first time car enthusiasts have seen the i8 in action. From the photos, it looks like the BMW i8 Spyder will have a folding metal roof, very much like a McLaren. Some fans even pointed out that it look like a Targa roof.

There is no doubt in every car enthusiast's mind that the i8 will be a great-looking car. Even with all the camouflage covers, its beauty is very much apparent.

According to reports, BMW will build the i8 Spyder at the same time as the new facelifted i8 which comes out next year. It is also expected that both supercars will have the same improvements.

Both cars, most especially the i8 Spyder, will likely be equipped with BMW's latest version of the iDrive. It will have touchscreen and gesture capabilities as well as an improved battery range.

It is also expected to have some more power for the 1.5-liter turbo-three. The BMW i8 Spyder will probably get some tweaks on the exterior.

Auto World News predicts the changes will probably be most recognizable on the headlights and taillights. It is still unsure whether or not the interior will be changed as the current i8's interior is still updated.

The German luxury automaker has yet to release their official announcement or acknowledgment for the leaked photos. However, fans are expecting that the BMW i8 Spyder release date will be announced soon.
