The official launch date of the much awaited Galaxy S8 will be revealed at the upcoming Mobile World Congress. This is according to a statement made by a Samsung executive.

Samsung Galaxy S8 launch date to be revealed at MWC 2017. Previous speculations say that the Korean tech giant will be revealing the Galaxy S8 at the Mobile World Congress later this month. This could very well be somehow true.

According to a report by the Korean Economic Daily, Kim Dong-jin, the company's chief executive of the wireless business, said that he plans to announce the official scheduled launch of the smartphone at the MWC. It is speculated that the Galaxy Tab S3 could make its debut along with the announcement.

The company has already scheduled a press event for the upcoming trade show on February 26, 2017. However, there are speculations that the announcement won't be happening there. Instead, the company may show a one-minute video teaser of the Galaxy S8.

It is speculated that the Galaxy S8 will be officially revealed at an exclusive event in New York on March 29, 2017. The device is expected to be made available for sale the following month on April 21, 2017. The company has not released any details to support these claims but did confirm that the event will happen in New York in March of this year.

At this point, every possible speculated feature of the Galaxy S8 has already hit the internet. Speculated features include a dual-curved edge display, a bezel-less design, and a fingerprint sensor. Previous leaks hinted at the company dropping the 3.5mm audio jack just like what Apple did with the iPhone 7 although more recent ones have claimed that the device will still sport it.

Samsung has always unveiled smartphones of its Galaxy S series at the MWC every February. However, fans will see a delay this year due to the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco. The company had required more time to ensure that future models will not suffer the same fate.
