The "Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild" is Nintendo Switch's flagship launch title. Its launch is still one of the most anticipated ones to date.
According to Director Eiji Aonuma, the game will launch the same day as the Nintendo Switch debut. Not only that, but an Expansion Pass will also be available on March 3rd.
According to reports, the Breath of the Wild title will receive several expansions. This means it is official that the game will have more downloadable content (DLC) after its official debut.
According to Aonuma's statement, the Expansion Pass will give way to three DLCs. The first one will contain several new treasure chest in the game's central area, the Grand Plateau. It will also include valuable and exclusive items.
Another DLC will add a new "hard mode," a new Cave of Trials challenge, and an additional map feature. It is set to be released for Summer of 2017. The last and final DLC provides additional challenges, a "new original story" and a new dungeon which will be released in the Holiday season of 2017.
Long-time fans and supporters of Nintendo know that this isn't the first time Nintendo has released DLC for its games. For instance, the Mario Kart 8 featured downloadable characters and tracks.
However, this will be the first entry in the Legend of Zelda series with DLC. For some, the DLC might be frustrating. Particularly for those who have been waiting for it to debut.
On the other hand, Aonuma also talked about the 2D Zelda team. In an interview with Game Informer, the series producer said, "The 3DS team and the Wii U team have different approaches to game development, so I don't necessarily want to combine them and have them think together, but rather have each think about what they can bring to Nintendo Switch from their own perspective."
Aonuma's statement is enough to keep the fans excited. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild comes out March 3 on Nintendo Switch and Wii U.
