Rapper Rick Ross was the target of a drive-by shooting in Fort Lauderdale, Florida according to The Huffington Post. Witness told a local Florida television new station that someone fired "several" rounds at a Rolls-Royce carrying the rapper.
The shooting occurred while the 2011 Rolls Royce was going eastbound on by Los Olas Boulevard when at least one gunman opened fire at approximately 5 a.m. according to The New York Times.
Ross's vehicle then struck the wall of an apartment complex after the driver turned in an attempt to avoid the bullets and lost control of the vehicle.
Ross was reportedly very "shaken up" after the drive by shooting attempt.

"The occupants of the vehicle have asked for their information to be withheld from being released," a spokeswoman for the Fort Lauderdale Police, Det. DeAnna Garcia, said according to The New York Times. "They obviously, with everything that just took place, are fearful for their lives and their families lives."
"Dozens" of shells were found at the scene, but Ross, nor his passenger, fashion designer Shateria Moragne-el, was injured according to The Huffington Post.
Ross had been out celebrating his birthday at a nearby restaurant after previously spending the night at club LIV in Miami Beach. Shots were also fired at the restaurant as he got into his vehicle to leave.
The Miami Herald reported that the restaurant was hit with at least 15 bullets, some hitting a window and a cooler according to the report.
The rapper, who was born William Roberts, lives in Davie according to the police report. Ross is the founder of the Maybach Music Group, and his most recent album "God Forgives, I Don't" is nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album according to the Grammys website.
