2017 Ford Fusion Sport AWD: A Midsize Sedan That Can Outrun A Mustang

The 2017 Ford Fusion Sport is considered the smartest and most technology-equipped Fusion ever in North America. It's the first vehicle to offer adaptive cruise control with stop and go functionality and Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection. It was awarded as 2017 MotorWeek Driver's Choice Award for Best Family Sedan.

Ford's speedy sedan is powered by a 2.7-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V-6 that produces 325 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque. However, that can only happen sometimes. It's because the engine can only produce that much horsepower when it's using a 93 octane gas.

The car comes with a four-cylinder engine and six-speed automatic transmission. It can accelerate from 0-60mph in just 5.3 seconds. That confirms that Ford's midsize vehicle is faster than the 2017 Honda Accord V6 that has a record of 5.7 seconds and a 2015 Toyota Camry XSE with 6.1 seconds.

Honda and Toyota have aspirated six-cylinders with the 2017 Accord producing 278 horsepower and the 2015 Camry at 268hp. Surprisingly, Ford's midsize sedan can outpace a Mustang with 2.3-liter I-4 EcoBoost by a full second.

The 2017 Ford Fusion Sport may be fast, but Ford also made ride comfort a priority. The inside is quiet at highway speeds and as well as the engine. The inside is equipped with an infotainment system, and advanced driver assistance technology like a lane keeping assist.

Furthermore, the price will start at $34,480. It also has options such as Driver Assist package which cost $1,625 and a Sports Upgrade package that costs $2,000. The package mentioned will include digital displays in the instrument cluster, ambient lighting, dual-zone climate control and much more.

Before the 2017 Ford Fusion Sport made its debut, some speculations convey that the midsize sedan would be the next version to join Ford's ST lineup of sporty models together with the Fiesta ST and Focus ST. The vehicle also comes with excellent features that include Recaro seats, improved brakes, a little bit of power increase, two turbos, all-wheel drive, and an impressive straight-line speed.
