Finally, the first prototypes of the 2019 Porsche 911 have been seen out and about. Porsche is expected to unveil the model (codenamed 992) sometime next year.

The world has been informed about the all new, next generation 911 model. However, only the test mules heavily disguised as the current 991 were seen as of today.

The latest tester featured in this report is likely to be for the Carrera S model, according to Motor Authority. It sports some new exciting elements.

Most of these exciting elements are found at the rear end of the car. It now sports a wide spoiler which gives the car a more broad body.

According to reports, the taillights also has one long strip which appears to follow the curve of the rear spoiler's leading edge. The exhaust tips are also positioned slightly closer to the center of the rear bumper.

It is also noticeable that the rear intakes are now larger than on the current model. The rear quarter window's surrounding edge has also been concealed. This may or may not indicate a new design.

Moving at the front, fans can see that the 2019 Porsche 911 headlights are now positioned at a slightly different angle compared to the current 911 model. It is evident that this new generation 911 will be wider than the current model.

It is also believed that Porsche is working on underpinning to be a modular sports car platform. This will allow greater flexibility when it comes to aligning the engines and suspension. Plus, it will finally allow Porsche to add the hybrid technology to the 911.

According to reports, the next generation Porsche 911 will have the same twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter flat-6 engine. It can produce up to 370 horsepower and 331 pound-feet of torque in the Carrera. On the Carrera S, it produces 420 horsepower and 368 pound-feet of torque.

Fans can expect that 2019 Porsche 911 to be introduced next year. Experts predict the in base Carrera and Carrera S will be the first ones to debut.
