In the race, the Land Rover is introducing the new Range Rover Velar. The vehicle has been spied while it was leaving the factory.
There are various rumors that are being circulated about the vehicle, the chief of which is that the new vehicle is based on the Jaguar F-Pace. This means Land Rover places the new vehicle above the compact Range Rover Evoque and just below the Range Rover Sport.
It is expected that the Range Rover is slightly more inclined towards the luxury segment than the sports segment. The vehicle will have certain off-road prowess as the brand is synonymous for the same.
There is a lot of speculation surrounding the fact as to what will power the vehicle. If the rumors are true, then it will be similar to F-Pace and will have two supercharged V6 engines and a diesel. The Range Rover might also be proudly displayed as a hybrid or plug-in hybrid variant, reported Auto Blog.
This would translate to the fact that the new Rover views not just Jaguar as its competitor but also other cars like the Porsche Macan and the Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class, reported Auto Car.
The new spy photos of the vehicle reveal that the vehicle has a rather traditional roofline. It does appear that the design of the car is a 4:5 scale version of the Range Rover Sport. From what we can see, the wheelbase is slightly shorter. Not only is the wheelbase but the front and rear overhangs are also shorter.
The spy photos reveal that the vehicle is just leaving the factory. This would mean that the Range Rover Velar is almost ready to make its debut.
