2017 Ford F-150 Raptor: The American Badass

The 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor is the high-end off-road version of the best-selling F-150. It boasts excellent fuel economy, a high tow, and extreme off-road driving.

Pros and Features. The all-new 2017 Ford Raptor has a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 engine. It also has a drive mode selector controlling where to send the torque, allowing the pickup to steer very efficiently. Road and Track even compares it to an off-road Nissan GT-R. It is basically a pickup truck that drives like a high-end performance coupe through the off-road terrain.

The pickup truck is quick and can virtually do anything and everything the driver would expect from it. While the Raptor may appear misplaced for city driving, it rules the off-road trails.

Inside, it offers comfort, convenience, and safety features. It has comfortable seats and barely any noise and vibration. The interior's quality is all magnificent and offers easy to use controls that are logically placed. It is also beautiful and roomy inside.

The pickup truck also has good tech features. The Sync 3 infotainment system is quick to respond to inputs and very easy to use. There are also smartphone-friendly amenities such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Cons. The 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor has an aluminum body panel which makes it more expensive to repair than steel. In addition, it has a stiff ride when the bed of the pickup is empty.

What's New? The 2017 Ford Raptor got several new updates. The optional turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine has been redesigned and paired with a new 10-speed transmission.

The engine-transmission duo, which was originally among the best in the class, now offers even better fuel economy with improved horsepower and torque. In addition, the Raptor made a return this year with its high-output version of the 3.5-liter turbocharged V6 engine.

Verdict. The 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor gets top marks for fuel economy, towing capacity, comfort, and ease of use. While it may not be for everyone, it is certainly perfect for those who expect to fly when hitting the off-road trails.
