"Sniper Elite 4" launched on the day wherein most couple are having the time of their lives, assuming, enjoying Valentine's Day. But for some, this is the day they welcome another installment from Rebellion Developments, another addition to their shooter series.
If you have patience, extreme patience, and enjoy plenty of stealth in games and would rather survive than shoot it all out, then Rebellion's latest sniping adventure is for you. This game will truly test the limits of your patience for it involves a great deal of waiting, patiently.
What's exciting about "Sniper Elite 4" this time around is that the game's enemies are slightly smarts, still under the game mechanics' control though. According to Kotaku, when one of the numbers in the enemy squads goes missing and is noticed, they actually go looking for them. However, they do ignore obvious sniper nests just so they could wander about searching for their lost member, but perhaps still taunting the shooter, whichever way you prefer to look at it.
Pretty much, the game is exciting and shooting enemies is so much fun. Let's check out how critics view Rebellion's latest addition, "Sniper Elite 4."
GameSpot rates the game 8 over 10. According to their review, Rebellion's tactical stealth video game "feels like a natural progression for this series, as Rebellion continues to refine its systems and put a greater emphasis on the long-range shooting it does so well." They added that although the stealth and action mechanics are simple, they are truly functional and regularly enjoyable. However, there are of course issues with the game as AI consistency, bland story, and dull competitive multiplayer.
Martin Robinson of Eurogamer recommends "Sniper Elite 4," noting that it is a really good video game. Rebellion Developments is finally able to combine the essence of the great stealth games such as "Metal Gear" and "Splinter Cell" yet still keeping the alive the flavor of "Sniper Elite."
These are only a few of the reviews from critics who put to the test their tactical shooting skills and patience. "Sniper Elite 4" is out now for PlayStation4, PC, and Xbox One. It retails at $60/£40 /AU $100. Now, it is up to you to decide whether you are up to the challenge of putting your skills and patience to the test. How long will you hold out?
