iPhone 6 Fingerprint Detection: New Apple Device Coming In 2013 Could Have Fingerprint Sensor (VIDEO)

Apple will reportedly release the iPhone 6 before the end of 2013, and according to new rumors the device could come equipped with fingerprint technology.

The new innovation could come this year or early 2014, essentially in the form of a sensor beneath the iPhone's home button according to Appleinsider.

Apple is expected to launch a new iPhone this year and the company is pushing to including new, intuitive designs that could be difficult for rival companies like Android and Windows Phone devices to copy.

Apple is hoping that their acquisition of AuthenTec will pay off this year with the iPhone 5S and then the iPhone 6. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities feels that the company is hoping to introduce the fingerprint sensor into the home button, while still allowing Apple to keep its "minimalist design" according to Appleinsider.

If the rumors are true, passwords and user names will no longer be required, and access important or private information will be more efficient than ever. Kuo predicts the fingerprint sensor will be able to work with apps like Passbook as well to make user's feel more secure compared to past devices.

Kuo reportedly has a respectable track record, successfully predicting past Apple devices and functions. Kuo essentially predicted Apple's entire fall lineup, like the taller design of the iPhone 5 last year, a thinner iMac, the iPad mini and the fourth-generation iPad as well.

Appleinsider's report also predicts a new handset based on the iPhone 5 device will also be introduced in 2013. Kuo feels that with Apple's stock in a drastic decline, the company is going to push to release a "more affordable" device targeted to emerging markets by the end of the year.

The cheaper iPhone 5 will include new plastic casing and a brand new design to cut costs according to Appleinsider.

Other Apple rumors currently making their way around the web include a new iPad mini with Retina display. The new device will reportedly be released this year as well, along with a new full-size iPad with a smaller design.
