Porsche is gearing up for another high-performance hybrid variant of its Panamera. Likely to be named Porsche Panamera 4S E-Hybrid, this is reportedly going to debut at the Geneva Motor Show and could pack a whopping 500bhp.

Fast is always furious, especially when you don't need to drop a single ounce of gasoline. Last year, during the 2016 Paris Auto Show, Michael Steiner, Porsche executive board member for research and development, in an interview with Car Advice noted that since the new already Panamera 4 Hybrid is performance-focused, they are working on an even more powerful variant. He was probably referring to the newly teased Porsche Panamera 4S E-Hybrid that could debut alongside the Panamera Sport Turismo this year.

Porsche has not divulged which powertrain they are going to use for this powerful variant, but AutoCar UK reports that its engine could be the hybridized version of the current 4S engine. Stefan Utsch, Sales and Marketing Director for the Panamera, said, "That could work."

Also, the new Porsche Panamera 4S E-Hybrid could be equipped with the twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6. The current one housed in the 4S and the existing E-Hybrid models. It could have a total output of at least 500bhp, allowing for it to reach a top speed of 290 km/h.

But Utsch said that a total output of 568hp could be achieved if the new electric motor is combined with the current 4S engine. He added that because the petrol engine and the electric motor can't provide peak power at the same time, the final combined output should be a bit lower, as reported by CarScoops.

The new Porsche Panamera 4S E-Hybrid could become the 2nd fastest model next to the company's Turbo models, which has an output of 542bhp. Well, the new model could weight 250kg more than the Turbo.

We could probably check out what the Porsche Panamera 4S E-Hybrid is truly made of when its debuts, reportedly, at the Geneva Motor Show, along with the Panamera Sport Turismo shooting brake variant. In the meantime, stay tuned for more Porsche Panamera news.
