Toyota launched the 2018 Toyota Tundra in this week's Chicago Auto Show. Design updates were introduced to attract the attention of the American market. The Tundra is Toyota's answer to the growing market for big Pick Up cars. Unfortunately, it lagged in sales the past years. The revamped car is Toyota's way of trying to get the bigger slice of the market pie.

The upgraded 2018 Toyota Tundra is powered by a 381 HP 5.7 Liter V8 engine. Buyers of the double cab styled car can choose between a 2X4 and a 4X4 model. There could also be an upgrade on its transmission to an eight-speed automatic gear for easier shifting as well as the new front grille and headlamps that are bold and eye-catching.

The new car will have an initial offering sometime this summer. Auto Guide reported that the 2006 Chicago Auto Show already showcased this type of model. However, for the past years, the had no significant change. Even in the 2013 auto show, there were minimal changes that were added. Few design changes were introduced during the auto show last 2013. Buyers are no longer expecting significant changes to the 2018 Toyota Tundra. Surprisingly, it will only be by 2020 that the redesign will be implemented.

To keep you safe on the road, safety features were incorporated into the new model. Motor Trend enumerated these security features. The 2018 Toyota Tundra will have the Toyota Safety Sense P features. It includes lane departure warning, automatic high beams, Pedestrian Detection and the radar-based adaptive cruise control. This will ensure not only a very comfortable ride but a safe one as well.

No price yet has been specified when the 2018 Toyota Tundra will hit the market. Toyota hopes that this vehicle can finally catch the attention and excitement of the buying public. After being beaten by Volkswagen last year in term of car sales, this four-door, double cab pick-up truck will break the trend.
