Mercedes Benz B-Class: Pure Electric Drive

The B-Class Electric Drive is not engineered only as an alternative to gas cars. It’s also roomy and versatile and generously outfitted, letting the driver enjoy up to 87 miles of range In style and comfort.

According to AutoCar, Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive has a three-mode operation. The Economy Plus mode is designed for steady-speed journeys. It reduces the output of the motor to 83 horsepower and top speed to 68mph. Economy mode reduces the output to 132 horsepower, and Sport mode offers the full 179 horsepower.

The Collision Prevent Assist Plus system allows a radar-assisted recuperative braking. It uses the information from the radar about the state of traffic ahead, which allows the car to use battery-charging braking to slow down. B-Class Electric Drive can be fully recharged in around nine hours if the battery is empty. But if the car is charged using 400-volt three-phased electricity supply, it takes only three hours.

The B-Class Electric Drive is far better than its internal combustion engine sister cars. The car’s effortless torque and near-silent progress put it in a category of its own. The steering response and the ride quality of the B-Class Electric Drive are better than the all-wheel-drive B220 d and the petrol-powered B 200.

Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive comes with drive system from Musk Industries. It consists of a lithium-ion battery pack under the car’s floor and a 132-kW electric motor in the nose, CarAndDriver reported. It has 179 horsepower with 251 pound-feet of torque. There are paddle shifters behind the steering wheel that allows the driver to select three levels of regenerative braking action.

The interior is made of quality materials and delivers premium features. Available luxuries are available to tailor the cabin even further. Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive comes with a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $39.990.
