The Dodge Viper is No More, All Units Sold Out

The Dodge Viper is one of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles' legendary sports cars. Last year, the automobile company announced that 2017 would be the sports car's last year.

This announcement has resulted in an influx of orders from both dealerships and consumers alike. Everyone was looking to get their hands on the final Viper models to leave Detroit.

Fiat Chrysler Authority reported that the books have already closed. FCA has sold out of 2017 Vipers. This doesn't mean that they are nowhere to be found. Plenty of them should be sitting in Dodge dealerships all over the country.

Sadly, those who wanted to avail of Dodge's build your own unique Viper program can no longer do so. Dodge's 1 of 1 program for a customized Viper is no longer available.

Motor Trend also reported that FCA design chief Ralph Giles is sad to see the Dodge Viper go away. For its final year, Dodge made five special editions for its 2017 Viper: the Viper 1:28 Edition AR, the Viper GTS-R Commemorative Edition ACR, the Viper Snakeskin Edition GTC, the VooDoo II Edition ACR, and the Dodge Dealer Edition ACR.

The 1:28 Edition AR pays tribute to the 2016 Dodge Viper ACR's lap record of 1:28.65 around Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Only 28 united were produced. The Viper GTS-R Commemorative Edition ACR commemorates the 1998 Viper GTS-R GT2 Championship Edition. 100 units were produced.

The Viper VoooDoo II Edition ACR pays homage to the 2010 Viper VooDoo edition. There were 31 units made. The flashiest of the lot is the Viper Snakeskin Edition GTC. It recognizes the 2010 Snakeskin ACR and only 25 units were produced.

The fifth model is the Dodge Dealer Edition ACR. It will be available in the highest-volume Viper dealers in the United States: Tomball Dodge in Tomball, Texas, and Roanoke Dodge in Roanoke, Illinois.

The five special edition models sold out right away. Some models sold out in just 40 minutes while others took up to five days. This prompted Dodge to add a sixth special edition Viper, the Snakeskin Edition ATR, which also sold out.

The 2017 Dodge Viper was an amazing car and the six special editions made it all the more special. It went out with a bang. If you're in the market for it, visit a dealership that still has one available.
