This Is How The Bugatti Chiron Is Made - Exclusive Tour In The Factory

French car manufacturer Bugatti Automobile provided the ultimate exclusive tour inside their factory where the Bugatti Chiron is made. This behind the scenes tour of the company's ultra-advanced car plant is something special.

This place is not like usual car factories. But then again, every Bugatti hypercar is not like any usual car in the market. The car plant located in Molsheim, near Strasbourg, in the north-east of France is the dream workplace for most petrol heads.

The location is completely locked-down. It serves as the home for the 70 Bugatti Chiron hypercars made hand-crafted each year. Looking through these photos, it is clear why each Chiron costs over $2.6 million. This price is enough for a car with enough power to light a small city - that's how much power each base model Bugatti Chiron has.

As of the moment, 12 of the super sports car are being hand-crafted at the production facility, according to reports. The images below gives a glimpse at the timeline of the build cycle.

Some photos of the stringent acceptance tests and even quality control are also included. Each car is hand-crafted to cater to the owner's unique specification. 20 staff members work to a variety of equally strict request sheets on every single model.

For instance, there are 23 standard topcoat colors and eight carbon variants for the exterior every buyer can choose from. Not only that, but buyers can also choose from 31 different leather types and eight Alcantara colors before deciding on the cabin design.

Even the stitching is completely customizable - there are 30 stitchings to choose from. Every detail is attended to. There are 18 carpets, 11 belt colors to choose from, too. For a little more money, buyers can also decide to create their color, have their initials etched into the rear spoiler, or even have a message embroidered into the center console.

Christopher Piochon, a member of the Bugatti Board of Management, said in a statement "We are building a super sports car. That is quite clear. But it is the way we do it, hand-crafting an individual product for each customer in this very special atmosphere that makes us unique."

It takes six days to build the chassis and another four for the carbon fiber bodywork. As for the paint, three weeks is all it needs. Add another two days of polishing that paint.

After polishing, the car is inspected in a room designed specifically designed to pinpoint even the tiniest blemish. Some more polishing follows after that.

Each Bugatti Chiron can produce 1,500 horsepower, 1,200 pound-feet of torque, an electronically limited top speed of 261 miles per hour. It can go from zero to 60 in less than 2.5 seconds. It is clear that the $2.6 million price tag does not only ensure every customer gets the top-of-the-line Bugatti Chiron, it also provides the feeling of superiority. Seeing how meticulously one hypercar unit is made, that hefty price tag is completely worth it.
