The Mitsubishi Outlander Sport is getting refreshed in 2017. The newest Limited Edition Trim will be revealed this week at the 2017 Chicago Auto Show.
The Car Connection reports that the new Mitsubishi Outlander Sport is the automaker’s best-selling vehicle in the U.S. There are four trim models. Base ES and SE trims come with a 2.0-liter inline-4 engine, and SEL trim and GT trim come with a 2.4 liter inline -4 engine. ES, SE and SEL models are available with front or all-wheel drive, but the GT model is available with all-wheel drive only. The exterior of the Outlander Sport is reworked with front grille and an attractive profile. However, the interior is black and uninteresting. Base SUV models are powered by a 2.0-liter inline-4 with 148 horsepower. It is available with either 5-speed manual or automatic continuously variable transmission.
The car is slow for its class and doesn’t receive any fuel economy gains as a trade-off for the lack of power. The upper models are equipped with 2.4 –liter inline-4 engine with 168 horsepower and they all come with automatic transmission. Base models of Mitsubishi Outlander Sport come with 18-inch wheels, Bluetooth connectivity, and automatic climate controls. The top models come with a 6.1-inch touchscreen, leather upholstery, heated power-adjustable seats, and a wide range of convenience features.
According to Motor Authority, there will also be a fourth limited edition model. There are some exterior changes like an alloy fuel filler door, black door mirrors, fog lamps, HID headlamps, and black-painted 18-inch alloy wheels.
There are some variations in the interior as well. The interior gets black fabric upholstery and red accent stitching on the steering wheel, shift knob, and brake level. There are also new aluminum pedals, heated front seats, and both Apple Car Play and Android Auto. All these features come at a $1,000 premium over the ES model.
Mitsubishi Outlander Sport Limited Edition is equipped with the base 148 horsepower 2.0-liter four cylinder engine. The Limited Edition starts at $22,890 for front wheel drive only and $24,390 for all-wheel drive.
