iPhone 8 is reportedly having an earlier production start. The company is even predicted to triple its production. Does it point to an earlier release date too?
Reports claim that there are indications hinting that Apple is making an earlier production start for its upcoming iPhone 8. Authors John Donovan and Steve Mullane from BlueFin Research Partners mentioned that they have figured that the Cupertino-based company is ramping the production of the next generation iPhones, TechTraderDaily reports. The authors admitted they can see indications pointing to a June production start.
The predicted June production start does not necessarily confirm a release date earlier than the anticipated September release. The authors clarified that they do not see any hints for a revision on the planned release date of the new smartphone.
Moreover, it was also hinted that Apple will be tripling its production for the upcoming iPhone. The authors mentioned that their current reading hints on a 300 percent increase in iPhone 8/X builds for the quarter of June.
Furthermore, it seems that Apple is already preparing the floor for the early start of iPhone 8 production. The report also detailed that AAPL has even adjusted to decrease the production schedule for iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone SE to make way for the upcoming iPhone 8 launch.
There might be truth to the BlueFin Research Partners' report as the anticipated device will have radical changes which will require longer production lead time. The earlier production plan for the next generation of iPhones seems valid.
As previously reported, the next generation iPhone will have the best levels of water and dust resistance. It is expected to have the IP68 rating which can provide protection even when the device is submerged in 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes.
The upcoming iPhone 8 is also expected to have an edge-to-edge display. It appears that this is becoming the new trend in the upcoming smartphones as the anticipated LG G6 and Samsung Galaxy S8 are reportedly coming out with a full-screen display too.
