EA has finally confirmed that the "FIFA" game heading to the highly anticipated console Nintendo Switch is in fact "FIFA 18." But this will be "custom built" specifically for the new console.

GameReactor caught up with the Chief Executive Officer of EA Sports, Peter Moore, during a FIFA event held in Paris over the weekend. According to Peter Moore, they are indeed custom-building another version of "FIFA" for Nintendo Switch. He added: "It will be FIFA 18, and it will obviously be later this year when "FIFA 18" comes out."

But EA has not officially confirmed that "FIFA 18" would go live as the other platform's versions, although it could actually come out not before September. This is "FIFA's" traditional release window.

"What you have will be a custom built version for the Nintendo Switch from the FIFA development team in Vancouver," added Moore when asked about whether "FIFA 18" for Nintendo Switch would be a slimmed down version as that on the Xbox One and PS4 or close to the older versions. Perhaps Moore is referring to the combination of the Switch's unique features and "FIFA's" visual quality.

When Nintendo unveiled the Switch, EA also announced that they have yet again teamed up with Nintendo. Further, the publisher also noted that they were working on a FIFA game solely for the console. But no further details were revealed since then, not even the game's title.

Further, Andrew Wilson, EA CEO, also said that "FIFA 18" for Nintendo Switch will be built on the foundation they created in 2016's story mode, reports GameSpot. They will bring back players to "The Journey Season 2" that will feature new storylines and characters.

In other Nintendo Switch news, Moore was asked whether "Mass Effect: Andromeda" will also be coming to Switch. He only noted that only EA game is "FIFA 18" for Nintendo Switch that is currently announced.

Nintendo Switch will officially launch on March 3. Aside from "FIFA 18" for Nintendo Switch, the other confirmed games heading to the highly anticipated console are "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim," "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild," "Lego Worlds," "Minecraft," and "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe."
