Oppo is known for their charming smartphones and its innovative technology. Oppo stated that every angle, color, and piece of their smartphone is meticulously crafted to ensure the maximum experience to its customers.
Tech Crunch reported that recent success of Oppo mobile phones is due to their well-designed phones that adapt new technologies, like AMOLED screens, but are priced well below the iPhone and other flagship competitors. They use aggressive advertising and offline sales channels to reach their customers. Oppo’s annual sales in China went up to 78.4 million, Huawei has 76.6 million, while Apple saw their first ever decline in smartphone sales. One-third of the Chinese market is held up by Oppo and Vivo, who are both owned by a Guangzhou-based company.
According to Tech Juice, both Samsung and Lenovo didn’t make it to the IDC’s tracker, while Xiaomi was well short of the 70 million plus sales it had in 2015. Apple also witnessed its first ever decline in smartphones sales in the Chinese market.
Their sales dropped by 12 percent, but according to IDC, the numbers are about to jump back for Apple once they release their new iPhone that is worth paying to upgrade. Most of the existing Apple users are holding out for the new release, and its sales will help with the brand's growth in 2017. Huawei replaced Vivo and took the second spot with 22.9% growth in Q4. Xiaomi slipped to 5th position with just 10% growth.
The Chinese manufacturers are fastening on entering the international markets. Huawei has been the most successful one with their online sale channel. They are planning to launch more flagship phones with dual cameras, curved screens and much more. Nokia has also entered the competition. Its new Nokia 6 phone was sold under a minute after its launch. And the company is planning to release more smartphones in 2017.
