Chevrolet Corvette C7 AeroWagen Is Here

Years after its announcement, Callaway Cars finally revealed the AeroWagen Corvette shooting brake. The announcement was originally made back in 2013, long before the Chevrolet Corvette C7 was even released.

For some reason, the launch took a little bit longer than Callaway Cars had originally planned. Now the AeroWagen is here and it will definitely give the Corvette drivers the extra luggage space they have been yearning for.

The AeroWagen conversion is said to be available on any Callaway custom Corvette, or any unmodified C7. This includes the Grand Sport and the Z06. Very much like Callaway promised, the Chevrolet Corvette C7 AeroWagen is straightforward.

It usurps the standard hatchback with a redesigned AeroWagen assembly. This assembly incorporates wraparound rear glass with a defroster element.

The unit requires no other modifications and it bolts on easily. As expected, the hatchback's functionality is retained. The same can be said for the Targa top.

According to Callaway, the conversion can be done at its facilities in both Connecticut or California. Those who are far from the area can also visit Callaway's partner retailers for the conversion.

As for the price, the standard kit can be availed for $14,990. The company said this includes "the Callaway carbon fiber AeroSpoiler." Customers can also choose to have it painted in any Corvette OE color for an additional $2980.

Yes, the result might be pretty subtle to some. It doesn't make any changes to the chassis nor the interior. Plus, it keeps the Targa roof intact and operational.

However, with Chevrolet showing no indications of ever building - or planning to build - a factory Corvette shooting brake, the Connecticut customizer is the only hope Chevrolet Corvette C7 owners have. It's the one and only source for transforming everyone's Corvette wagon dreams into a reality. Now, every C7 owner can have the growl and sporty look while having the space to haul all sorts of gear - having the best of both worlds.
