Dodge Dart 2016 Buyers Guide and Review

The Dodge Dart 2016 is an appealing small sedan that has its own charm. It's surprisingly roomy, functional, and affordable. It is definitely worth considering.

Pros and Features. The Dodge sedan is a compact five-passenger sedan. It has a spacious interior and back seat considering its small size.

It also has excellent optional touchscreen interface features which are quick and easy to use. Additionally, its steering and handling are very responsive and make the Dart fun to drive.

Cons. The base engine has very sluggish acceleration and is weak overall. In addition, the Aero model's automatic transmission is slow and unrefined.

The front seats of the Dart are contoured oddly and appear to be mounted too high. It is not very comfortable to sit on. Additionally, the thick rear pillars inhibit rear visibility.

What's New? The 2016 Dodge Dart remains virtually unchanged since its 2013 debut. Minor visual changes are noted as well as a Rallye appearance package available for the SE model and a Blacktop package for the GT.

Models. The 2016 Dart is available in six different models: SE, Turbo, Aero, SXT, GT, and Limited. The SE is sparingly equipped with 16-inch wheels, power windows, a four-speaker sound system, ann an auxiliary audio jack. It comes with an optional Convenience package that adds underbody aerodynamics enhancements, keyless entry, cruise control, and other tech features. There is also an optional SE Rallye package which adds 17-inch black aluminum wheels and special exterior styling elements.

The Turbo is the SE with the convenience package but adds a 1.4-liter turbocharged engine which comes exclusively in MT. The Dodge Dart Aero was built for fuel economy. It comes with a 1.4-liter engine, 16-inch aluminum wheels, and other tech features including the Convenience package options.

The SXT has the same features as the SE and adds several features from the Convenience package. It also adds 16-inch aluminum wheels, automatic headlights, LED taillights, and other comfort and tech features. It is eligible for several package options such as the Uconnect Touchscreen package, the Sun/Sound package, the Cold Weather package, the Rallye and California Appearance packages, and the Blacktop package.

The Dart GT has the same equipment as the SXT along with its Cold Weather package and the Aero's aerodynamic enhancements. It also adds 18-inch wheels, fog lights, keyless ignition and entry, and other sporty features.

The Dart Limited has all of the equipment of the GT but reverts to 17-inch wheels and standard suspension tuning. It also features remote ignition, a sunroof, and navigation system.

Verdict. The Dodge Dart 2016 is reliable and has a lot of optional features which are recommended. It may be a very basic car but it has a low price point and a decent and spacious interior. It is a practical choice for those who don't need the added features.
