Motorola Moto G5 Will Hit Retailers Shortly After Its Debut At MWC 2017

The Motorola Moto G5 is one of the highly anticipated, and much rumored, devices that will be unveiled at the MWC 2017 in Barcelona. The latest rumor on this not-so-kept-secret is that according to reports, the unit will go on sale in the United Kingdom shortly after its Barcelona debut. MWC 2017 will begin on Feb. 27 and is slated to run until March 2.

The eventual release date of Motorola's smartphone for retailers was posted on Twitter by a journalist and a known tipster Roland Quandt. The listing of the Motorola Moto G5 was from an e-commerce website, Clove, in the UK where it revealed that stocks for the smartphone will be available "mid-March," reports Trusted Reviews.

Details of the listing for the Motorola smartphone included color options, in either "Gold" or "Grey." The listing furthered that both will have 16GB of storage and 2GB of RAM.

Earlier reports of the specs for the Motorola Moto 5 noted that it will feature a 5-inch full HD screen having a pixel density of 441ppi. It is also reported that the smartphone will house Qualcomm's Snapdragon 430 processor clocked to 1.4 GHz.

The Motorola Moto G5 has a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash while its front camera has 5 megapixels. It comes with a 3,000 mAh battery. There is also a possibility that this device will have a fingerprint sensor and NFC connectivity.

The smartphone will run on Android's latest OS 7.0.1, Nougat. The Motorola Moto G5 has already been cleared by the US FCC, meaning Motorola's smartphone will be arriving in the United States, according to GSMArena.

The Motorola Moto G5 has been the subject of much leaks and a number of rumors. So far, the company has neither denied nor confirmed any of the earlier-mentioned reports. In any case, we will have to wait until the MWC 2017 begins and the smartphone makes its official debut.
