Samsung Galaxy S8 is definitely one of the highly anticipated smartphones to be released anytime this year. It is also reported to be the answer to the unfortunate incident that happened to Samsung Note 7. The S8, upon release, is going to be the most advanced smartphone of its kind.
However, there are leaks according to reliable sources about possible deal-breakers of the upcoming S8. Forbes revealed that there are at least two updates that are considered disappointing for its future buyers.
Reports say that the invasive Samsung branding or logo will take up the space of the screen. Samsung Galaxy S8 is initially reported to have the best screen to phone ratio, however, the brand Samsung will take at least one-fourth of the space. It will have SAMSUNG displayed on top of the screen which is a definite space-waster.
Another report suggests that the new location of the fingerprint sensor is one to make buyers look away. The fingerprint sensor of the S8 will be located on the back of the phone. The reason behind this is that the front of the screen can't accommodate the sensor and its mechanisms. The Galaxy's toughest competitor, I Phone, has its fingerprint scanner conveniently located on the bottom of the screen, so using the thumb to unlock the device makes it very convenient.
This may not happen, or Samsung may still have time to change it. However, if the Korean tech giant is already in the production process, buyers may either stick to iPhone or just get used to the awkward placement of the fingerprint sensor.
As added by Tech Radar, the Samsung Galaxy S8 is reported to be released either on March 29 or April 21 of this year. By then, buyers and tech gurus will finally know if the reported deal-breakers are going to be confirmed. Few more months and the grand reveal will happen, well, granting that the device will definitely be released on the said dates.
Samsung usually announces its new devices during the month of February, however, it may be different this year. The Samsung Galaxy S8 will also not be featured or announced this upcoming MWC in Barcelona. It is best to stay tuned as updates may be released in the weeks to come.
