Nintendo NES Still Out Of Stocks Or Is It A Marketing Strategy?

The Nintendo NES is unstoppable with over 1.5 million sales worldwide. But the question is, is the product shortage real or not? Are they using the product scarcity as a marketing strategy?

Undoubtedly the Nintendo NES is selling like hotcakes following its first release. It sold millions and still, there are many people still looking for ways to get hold of this classic gadget. Stores and even Amazon run out of stocks weeks after its release.

There are quite a number of people who are even selling their Nintendo NES for a higher price. Some are actually putting it for grabs for $120 when the actual price is only half of it. These interested buyers are willing to spend that much in exchange for this cool gadget.

Nintendo already apologized for the Nintendo NES shortage since there were only a limited number of stocks for each market as mentioned in Forbes. However, some speculations revealed that Nintendo might be using the product shortage as a strategy to boost sales and divert the buyer's attention to their newest game console, the  Nintendo Switch. Forbes also added that Nintendo has a reputation of using the scarcity of their product as a marketing strategy.

Regardless if they are doing this for publicity of not, Nintendo NES fans cannot deny that they are actually waiting for the March 2017 new stocks' release. Nintendo promised that they will not let the shortage happen again.  Also, Interested buyers are pre-ordering the classic Nintendo game to make sure they will receive one once it becomes available.

With over 30 pre-installed games including Super Mario, Dr. Mario, Excite Bike, Pac-Man and Ice Climber to name a few, who wouldn't like to purchase the newest Nintendo NES. Hopefully, by March all stores will be able to provide this product for all the buyers who are anticipating its release.
