Rockstar Games has announced that "Grand Theft Auto Online" character transfers and progress will no longer be possible after March 6. Players have a few weeks left to transfer everything from PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. On the bright side, there is a new round of in-game bonuses for "GTA Online," such as double GTA$, RP promotions, executive office sale, and more.
Players need to upgrade from their PS3 or Xbox 360 console to GTA's Enhanced Edition or current-gen console for "Grand Theft Auto Online" as this will no longer be supported by Rockstar Games. Although news about the obliteration of the support for past-gen consoles has sparked since last year, a number of players still expressed their strong thoughts as to why this move was necessary.
Since "GTA5" went live on the current-gen console in 2014, updates and support for "GTA Online" on PS3 and Xbox 360 has ended back in 2015. According to GTA 5 Cheats, Rockstar Games is not required to offer character and progress transfers since the release of up-to-date consoles. The fact that this was implemented in the first is already a "gift" from the company.
Second is that by continuing to support the past-gen consoles will become too expensive and less rewarding for the company since a number of players have been trading their past-gen consoles to newer and more updated ones. Lastly, the gap between the two generations of the consoles has been growing wider each day. Thus, by obliterating character and progress transfers, Rockstar Games can then focus on their newer developments for "GTA5."
Cheer up "GTA Online" fans as Rockstar Games is giving away in-game bonuses beginning January 31 until February 13. There will be double GTA$ and RP for the next 2 weeks in the trio of Adversary Modes: Juggernaut, Vehicle Vendetta, and Lost Vs Damned.
According to Rockstar Games, A 50 percent discount is offered for Executive Offices and 25% off for Vehicle Warehouses. Also included in the discounts are 25 percent off for the Turreted Limo, Buzzard attack chopper, and Cargobob, 25 percent off for all Pistols, Sniper Rifles, and Light Machine Guns, 25% off the Pegassi Osiris supercar, 50% off all Vehicle Armor and Bulletproof Tires, 25 percent off the Principe Diabolus motorcycle, 25 percent off Vehicle Cosmetic Modifications, and off Vehicle Cosmetic Modifications.
Plus, a series of premium races have been scheduled. You'll have "The Wave" from January 31 to February 6 and "Vespucci" from February 7 to February 13.
"Grand Theft Auto Online" will still continue to run on the past-gen consoles. But the updates will be reserved for the newer ones such as the Xbox One, PS4, and PC versions. Also, "Grand Theft Auto V" is now available.
