Review On Both Honda Civic And Honda Civic Sport Plus

The next generation of Honda Civic is on the way. The big models are Honda Civic and the aggressive version Honda Civic Sport Plus that are coming this year. Both of them have very big shoes to fill.

According to Telegraph UK, the new Honda Civic is a bit bigger than the old one. It’s 148mm longer, and 29mm wider, but 20mm lower, with a center of gravity moved down 34mm and the driver’s hip point down 35mm. On the other side the new Honda Civic is a bit heavier than the old one, 91kg heavier in fact.

This particular model will be available with 3 different engines. The first one will be three cylinder 988cc one that can produce 127hp. Second, one can produce 179hp and has four cylinders. And later this year Honda will launch the turbodiesel four-cylinder with its 1.6-liter motor. All the cars will have front wheel drive and a six-speed manual transmission. The car has been designed by a Japanese designer.

The interior is changed as well. At the front, there is a navigation screen that runs on an updated architecture. It includes lane departure, city parking, and cross traffic alert. There is more headroom and more legroom in the backseats as well which makes seating in the back more comfortable than the old models of Honda Civic.

The car itself isn’t particularly fast but it’s swift in the corners and pleasing to drive. The price of the models will range from £18,355 to £27,295. On the lower end model, the top speed is 126mph with acceleration from 0-62mph in just 10.4 sec.

According to Car Throttle the new Honda Civic Sport Plus is worthy of the attention. The weird Honda Civic Sport Plus is different than the old car. The twisted beam rear suspension setup has been ditched for a fully independent, multi-link system, the twisting stiffness has been increased massively, and there are even adaptive dampers available.

Honda Civic Sport Plus comes with 1.5-liter engine and puts out 180hp and 162b ft of torque. With these specs from 0-62 mph it speeds up in just 8.3 seconds. The figures itself aren’t that exciting but the car is revved and pulls nicely at anything above 2000rpm.

The specs of the new Honda Civic Sport Plus are good, and on top of that, it does well in practicality as well. There’s plenty of headroom and legroom in the car and it doesn’t feel tight at all. According to Honda’s lab figures the fuel economy for the 1.0 liter is 55.4mpg, and for the 1.5 liter it’s 46.3mpg. Starting prices are £18,335 for the 1.0, and £22,470 for the 1.5. Overall, the car is a fine package and a really good alternative to Ford Focus or VW Golf.
