In recent Nintendo Sales Figure discussion, Nintendo President, Tatsumi Kimishima tackled a lot of ongoing projects with the Nintendo ecosystem. He also expressed his deepest apologies regarding Nintendo Mini NES Classic Edition stock shortage to all Nintendo fans and retail partners.
Kimishima admits the stress this issue had created. The main reason for product shortage sighted by Kimishima is product materials procurement. This added to the delay of production, and at the same time poor product demand judgment.
"We apologize to our consumers and retail partners for the inconvenience caused by product shortages," says Kimishima. "We also see the nostalgic interest in these products as an opportunity to draw consumers' attention to our latest game system, Nintendo Switch," he added.
Kimishima assured that the company is working on a ramp-up production to meet consumer's demands. Mini NES Classic Console hopefuls might not expect the ramp-up production too soon. It is because Nintendo is focusing on their latest release which is the Nintendo Switch.
Based on previous reports, Nintendo uses almost all of its resources for the Nintendo Switch success. Knowing that product material procurement is the probable cause of the delay, Mini NES Classic restocks might happened sometime after Switch launch. But, this is based on pure assumption only, therefore, there could be a possibility that Nintendo might release it ahead of schedule.
With 1.5 million units sold despite supply shortage, Nintendo Mini NES Classic Console proves that it is still the most wanted console up-to-date. Nintendo has not revealed ramp-up production schedule details. Auto News World will provide updates once the details are available, therefore, stay tuned for more news and update.
Nintendo Mini NES Classic Console is a remastered version of the NES Console. The $60 retrospective console launched last November 2016 and has been sold out until today.
