Latest Mercedes-Benz A-Class Sedan Spotted? Takeaways Of Upcoming Model Revealed

It was announced previously that a latest Mercedes-Benz sedan is currently underworking since last year. Since the release of the A-Class hatchback, the automaker decided to create the Audi A3's competition in the market which may have been previewed car spotters. What were the takeaways?

The Specs.  Gordon Wagener, the design leader for the brand, first revealed that the latest Mercedes-Benz sedan would incorporate "sensual purity" as its design inspiration. Although the company has not officially revealed the vehicle, it was spotted by car enthusiasts which revealed it would be a four-door vehicle which has a relatively smaller and sleeker exterior, reported MSN.

The design was said to compliment consumer preferences in the U.S. as it was found that hatchbacks did not sell that well in that market. It was pegged to be a possible member of the A-class franchise which proved to be a luxury car. It would likewise be created with the front-wheel drive MFA2 platform which could be found in CLA and GLA installments. All-wheel drive models may also be available as this option has also been apparent with the A-class models.

Another Updated Model. In other news, Yahoo! reported that the brand has also been cooking up a brand new model - the Mercedes-Benz E-class convertible. It was spotted taking a test drive with Christian Fruh behind the wheel. It was seen to be an E-class model, the E200 which could run 241hp. Powered by a four-cylinder turbodiesel engine but the one to be sold in the U.S. would be the E400 which has 329hp and 354 lb.-ft. of torque for its powertrain.

The latest Mercedes-Benz sedan which would be a part of the A-class was forecasted to share the same price range with the CLA which could start at $33,325. It would likewise be featured as a 2018 model. On the other hand, the E-class updated model would be showcased in dealerships this coming summer.
