Audi TT Receives Quattro All-Wheel-Drive System; Now With Better Traction

Audi has expanded options for its evergreen TT range. The German automaker has added the new TDI diesel variants complete with Quattro AWD. UK markets now have the option of adding more grip to their Audi TT vehicles.

What is trending in the United Kingdom these days is the 2.0 TDI engine. Thus, Audi must have been looking at this when they opted to add a Quattro AWD for the Audi TT vehicles. But the front-wheel-drive version will come as standard to all models.

According to Express UK, the 2.0 TDI will be matched with 6-speed S tronic twin-clutch transmission. All vehicles in the Audi TT TDI Quattro lineup is getting a 181bhp diesel power unit. Further, drivers will be able to utilize the wheel-selective torque with the use of the Quattro system. This ensures better handling and cornering thanks to the distribution of power to the outer rear wheels.

Sprint times for the new Audi TT mirrors the traction advantages. The Coupe variant is able to finish an astounding 6.7 seconds in the 0-62mph dash, while the Roadster has a 7-sec 0-62mph dash, reports AutoExpress UK. The top speeds for both the Coupe and Roadster are 145mph and 142 mps respectively.

In terms of fuel efficiency, Audi claims that the new Audi TT Coupe variant is capable of delivering 52.3mpg with 142g/km of CO2 emission. Meanwhile, the Roadster has 50.4mph matched with 147g/km of CO2 emission. Although the numbers are quite impressive, there is only a marginal decrease in fuel consumption for the vehicles.
