Google has come up with another tool to help people in its struggle to find a parking space. Yes, Google Maps does not just provide traffic flow updates, it is reportedly now giving updates on parking spaces too.

It seems that Google has seen the worsening struggle in the limited parking spaces. The technology giant has reportedly come up with a brilliant solution to assist car owners.

The latest update on Android for Google Maps apparently includes a new feature that provides an estimated degree of difficulty in locating parking spaces in some particular areas. Google Maps now has the "parking difficulty icon" which helps inform car drivers about parking situations in 25 metro areas in the US.

The "parking difficulty icon" provides three alert labels such as easy, medium and limited. This feature will help people to know the crunch time they will need to combat in finding a parking space prior to heading to a business meeting or to the malls.

This new feature was created with a similar method used in Google Maps Popular Times and Visit Duration. The results from the "parking difficulty icon" are calculated based on real-time historical parking data. Users can see the level of parking difficulty marked on the destination being searched through the Google Maps app.

According to the posting at the official blog site of Google, the "parking difficulty icon" is now working in the following metro areas like Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Charlotte, Cleveland, Dallas/Fort Worth, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis/St. Paul, New York City, Orlando, Philadelphia, Pittsburg, Phoenix, Portland, Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, St. Louis, Tampa, and Washington D.C.
