The Samsung Galaxy S8 will have its official launch in late March and consumers will have the chance to get the smartphone around April 21. The South Korean tech giant's latest flagship will feature bezel-less, edge-to-edge infinity display. It is also speculated to have an iris scanner, said The Guardian.
The next-generation phone will have a later release date due to the issues surrounding the Note 7 fiasco. Samsung originally planned to introduce the phone at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The Android Nougat 7.0-powered Samsung Galaxy S8 will come in two sizes, which are codenamed Dream and Dream 2.
Meanwhile, details about the upcoming Nokia Heart have resurfaced. According to Phone Arena, the Android phone will be released this month in China alongside the Nokia 6. It remains unclear if Nokia Heart is the handset's final brand name. The benchmarking website GFXBench had the privilege to leak information about the Nokia Heart. Both phones are said to feature octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processors, a 5.2-inch 720p display, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal memory.
In another Android development, Forbes magazine's Brooke Crothers conducted a long-term comparison review of the Google Pixel XL and iPhone 7 Plus. The review is part of an experiment that involved Crothers switching from the iPhone 7 Plus to the Pixel XL.
Crothers' criteria include the phones' chassis, user experience, performance, display, camera, and battery life. He also assessed the spoken responses of the phones' intelligent personal assistants - Apple's Siri and Google Assistant. In the end, Crothers favored the iPhone 7 Plus over the Android Nougat Pixel XL, based on raw performance benchmarks.
