Apple iOS 10.2.1 Update Already Out; What Is In Store For Users

Following the release of Apple's iOS 10.2, comes the iOS 10.2.1 update for all Apple users. This new update is to improve security and fix bugs in the system. While it may feel that doing these updates are sort of a routine, it is important that users get the updates to protect their device.

This new Apple iOS 10.2.1 according to Forbes, is important as it involves a lot of security fixes to protect users from a lot of potentially harmful attacks on their Apple units' system. The company identified a number of issues following its release which include around 11 focused WebKit vulnerabilities that may lead to an alarming arbitrary execution of codes, vulnerabilities in the App Store, browser engine and other iOS apps as well.

According to the senior security researcher from Malwarebytes mentioned in Wired, JP Taggart, the new malicious app can completely control the device like adding or deleting files and any other actions such as recording conversations then forward them or install more malicious malware. If this is going to be used, high-profile people will certainly be likely targets and will cause broader attacks in the near future.

Users can install the Apple iOS 10.2.1 update by connecting the device to the iTunes or simply downloading it through this path: Settings > General > Software Update. Tap it, download and wait. It is available on the following devices like iPhone 5 and further versions, iPad 4 and further versions, iPad 6 generation and further versions as well.

The Apple iOS 10.2.1 update is around 72MB so users should know how to budget the space available on their device. It is also important for Apple owners to do this the soonest before these new malwares compromise and affect their device big time.
