Porsche Introduces New Cayman, Carrera 4 Vehicles At Los Angeles Auto Show (VIDEO)

Porsche premiered its new Cayman model at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show this past week and also announced it will be released in two different versions. The Cayman and Cayman S will be "longer, lower and faster" than any other model of its kind according to a Porsche press release.

Both vehicles will reportedly have longer wheelbase, larger wheels that enhance driving performance, and will be completely re-engineered essentially from the ground up.

The new Cayman models will be in Porsche dealerships by spring 2013 the company said at the LA Auto Show. The base Cayman model will be $52,600, and the Cayman S will be $63,800. Both prices don't include Porsche's destination charge.

The vehicles will feature efficient fiat-six cylinder engines mounted near the front of the rear axle. The regular Cayman comes included with 2.7-liter engine with 275 horsepower included in the Sport Chrono package. The car is expected to go from 0 to 60 in under 5.2 seconds.

The Cayman S has a 3.4-liter engine that can produce 325 horsepower with the Sports Chrono package. The S model can go 0 to 60 in 4.4 seconds.

The company also showed off the new 911 Carrera 4 at the Panamera Platinum Edition, both of which had never been showcased in North America before the LA Auto Show.

New Carrera models have features like broad rear sections and a red light strip between rear lights. The vehicle will feature Porsche's all-wheel drive layout according to the press release which puts an emphasis on power to the rear wheels. Porsche promises "maximum driving performance" on a wide variety of road surfaces in all kinds of weather conditions.

The 911 Carrera was first shown at the Paris International Motor Show this past September and was priced at $91,030 without a destination fee. The vehicle will be on sale early 2013 accord to Porsche.
